⚠️ Straight answer up front: as of this writing, Revolut does not offer personal accounts to Canadian residents. Revolut ran a limited beta in Canada from 2019, never obtained a Canadian banking licence, and exited the market in March 2021. As of mid-2026, no relaunch date has been announced. If you're a Canadian resident hoping to sign up for the first time, you currently can't — this page exists to say that clearly rather than write around it.
If you already have a Revolut account from elsewhere
Revolut does support spending in Canadian dollars if you already hold an account opened in a country where Revolut is live (UK, EEA, Australia, US and others) — useful if you're travelling to or living temporarily in Canada. Your existing card converts and spends CAD like any other supported currency; there's no separate "Canadian Revolut" product to sign up for locally.
How Canadian online gambling law actually works
Gambling regulation in Canada is provincial, not federal — the Criminal Code permits commercial gambling only when conducted and managed by a provincial or territorial government. Ontario has run an open, multi-operator licensed iGaming market since April 2022 (regulated by AGCO/iGO); Alberta opened a similar market on 13 July 2026 (AGLC/AiGC). Most other provinces run a single government-operated platform instead (e.g. BCLC's PlayNow, Loto-Québec's Espacejeux).
Offshore casinos not licensed by any Canadian province operate in a grey area: there's no federal law criminalising an individual player for using one, but you lose access to provincial dispute-resolution processes, self-exclusion programmes, and fund-segregation rules if something goes wrong with a payout.
